Tawney Nurse shark is a tropical species, the Grey Nurse is commonly seen in cooler waters.

Reliable diving experts have spotted Grey Nurse sharks in distant waters of New Guinea and Broome (Western Australia).

A near hysterical publicity campaign in the 1990’s guessed existing population figures and the gullible media reported these with blind faith.
